Well, I thought it was time to make a formal announcement that A. Star will no longer be releasing any new material.

It's been real y'all, but I'm afraid things have run their course.

I will still be selling everything in our current catalog, but there won't be anything new from A. Star.

Keep an eye out for new things though. We are all still keeping busy with our various projects and there will continue to be plenty of output in different forms, probably new different labels and things like that.

But this beast has died.

Hey y'all! SLUG Magazine just put out an issue featuring local record labels including us. You can check it out at slugmag.com

Also I'm just about finished screenprinting our next release "Wite Nite". It's pretty cool, and will probably finish out the year for us, release wise.

This Friday at Red Light Books in Salt Lake there will be a pretty cool drone/noise/ambient show featuring The Tenants of Balthazar's Castle, WYLD WYZRDZ, Mothers of Sons, and Twilight Transmissions. Come check it out if you're in the area, and you can pick up Wite Nite, and any other new stuff you haven't yet (like The Moon for example).

Stag Hare Here reporting into A.Star central from a coffee and bubble tea place in NE Portland by a park. Pretty much everyone in this entire area are high school/middle school kids...I must be near a school house. this is the spot I chose to detrain from the light rail and chill for like 4 hours until I find my way deeper into the NE to a place they call Rererato where I am to perform. I traveled really light, so light in fact that I seem to have forgot all my merch. I don't have even one CD to sell. But I'm excited to be using only three items of electronic gear, in contrast to the complicated array I used a few weeks ago when I played here last. I also have a set prepared, in contrast to an entirely improvised set....and I'm playing with Dash who from past shows is worth a trip across vast space and one time zone alone, and a group called Guitars, who I have not seen or heard, and Orem the Sink. and thats about all I want 2 say 2 U. I have some videos maybe I can post from a tour I did last month, but I ain't tracked em down yet. pictures too. now I will click PUBLISH POST and see what happens

hew's news isn't quite like blue's clues. but the words my sound similar.

due to the explosion of hard drives in laptops, one in particular, in an overexaggeration. everything was lost. all the songs i was working on, all of the music files, everything.
therefore there will not be any new songs being released on the internet until a new one is purchased. if there are any recordings being released, they will most likely be crude live recordings. but if you like the live recordings, it wouldn't really matter i suppose.

until then,
i'm working on live material and plan to gain an active lifestyle by playing out more.
it will be somewhat difficult at the moment due to the fact that i don't have any reliable transportation to get to the places of playing.
but stay tuned. i'm working on it.

Well, I have finally finished screen printing the reissue of BATS (which originally came out about a year ago). For my first real screen printing work (the previous screen printed CDs were all done by Andrew) it came out pretty good. Some of them got kind of weird and blurry, but the unevenness is part of what screen printing is all about (to me), and I think it's a nice effect that matches with the music.

So those of you that missed out on Bats the first time around, check it out. Samples on virb.com/batsbats there is also a picture of the raccoon that dropped in on us while recording the song "raccoon".

In other news, the new Tenants album, THE MOON, is almost done!
